The RAMTEC Advance Manufacturing and Engineering program will help you develop Engineering technician skills required to enter one of many high-paying technical jobs. In a lab complete with state-of-the-art engineering equipment, you learn to translate ideas, sketches and engineering specifications into working drawings and projects. As the Director of Judging for the National Robotics Challenge and the Director of the RAMTEC Ohio Vex Robotics League I have had the opportunity to be a part of an integral part of many young technicians and engineers development. I graduated and instruct at Marion Technical College and as a graduated of Bowling Green State University in Advanced Technology Education . I have worked as a Computer-Aided-Drafting (CAD) engineering technician in many area companies such as Whirlpool Corporation, Guardian Glass, Liebert Corporation, Fairfield Engineering, Worthington Industries, Burris & Behne Architects and Karlesburger and Associates I also am nationally certified to teach Project Lead the Way (PLTW) Digital Electronics (ED), Computer-Integrated-Manufacturing (CIM), and Engineering Design and Development (EDD).
You will use many tools of the trade, including CAD, Oscilloscopes, basic electronics, Digital MultiMeters, hydraulics, motors and controls, Fanuc Robots, Yaskawa Motoman Robots, Haas and Mazak CNC milling machines, PLCs, Mig Welders, Relays, and telecommunications equipment.
Admission Standards:
Successful Completion of Level 1 Programs at River Valley (Ed Goodwin), Elgin (John Kuzio), Harding (Mark Robinson ), North Union (Kurt Grunnert & Jodie Kavanagh), Ridgedale (Dave Sieg), Cardington Lincoln (Jodie Adams), Highland (Tom Gieldersleeve) or Tri-Rivers Career Center's Engineering and Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering Level I program .
